Callum Wilson news

Chelsea won’t sign Wilson

Chelsea have reportedly ended their interest in signing Callum Wilson from Bournemouth, given his performances have dropped over the course of the current season.

The 27-year-old earned recognition with the England national side owing to his performances last term but he has not been able to replicate the same this campaign.

He has netted just five goals during the current top-flight campaign and he has gone on a run of 14 league matches where he has been unable to find the net for the Cherries.

As a result, the Blues seem to have ended their prolonged interest in his services and Sky Sports News claims that they won’t be lodging any transfer approach this month.

Meanwhile, it is also reported that the club won’t exercise the buy-back clause present in the contract of Cherries defender Nathan Ake and they are prepared to look elsewhere in the search for reinforcements.

Chelsea are scheduled to face Newcastle United on the road in the Premier League this weekend. They are currently fourth in the standings with 39 points on the board.

James Maddison news

Maddison won’t leave Leicester this month

Leicester City midfielder James Maddison is prepared to wait until the summer before deciding on a possible move away from the King Power Stadium.

The England international has been earmarked as one of the prime transfer targets for Manchester United but a mid-season deal appears unlikely.

According to Manchester Evening News, United are aware that the Foxes won’t listen to any offers for the midfielder this month and they are willing to remain patient in the player’s pursuit.

Similarly, Maddison seems in no hurry to part ways with the east Midlands outfit and he won’t make an attempt to force through an exit before the January transfer deadline.

United are lacking creative midfield options within their first-team squad and they have recently been hampered with both Paul Pogba and Scott McTominay sidelined with injury concerns.

The Mancunian giants are presently on a three-match winless streak and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has recently stressed that there is no quick fix to the club’s ongoing concerns.

German giants Borussia Dortmund have no plans of parting ways with Jadon Sancho in the New Year amid the speculated interest from the likes of Chelsea and Manchester United.

The England international has been reported to be unsettled due to the recent criticism of his attitude from manager Lucien Favre and there have been claims that he could leave the Bundesliga side in the New Year.

According to Bild, Dortmund have no desire to cash in on their prized asset at the turn of the year and they are prepared to wait until the summer before considering his future.

Manchester United and Real Madrid have recently been linked with a £100m swoop for Sancho and reports have also claimed that Chelsea could join the race once their transfer ban concludes.

Chelsea are not permitted to make any new signings until July 2020 but they are said to be confident of reducing the transfer ban after making their appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport.

Ben Chilwell news

Foxes won’t sell Chilwell in January

Leicester City will reportedly turn down the option to sell defender Ben Chilwell, should the likes of Chelsea and Manchester United make an approach.

The England international has been in stunning form for club and country this term and he recently bagged three assists for the Three Lions in a Euro 2020 qualifier.

As a result, there has been much speculation over his next challenge but Standard Sport claims that the Foxes have no intention to sanction the player’s sale in the New Year.

United have relied on Ashley Young and Brandon Williams on the left side of the defence this term with Luke Shaw struggling with muscular injury concerns.

As such, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is looking to recruit another left-sided defender with experience and Chilwell perfect fits the club’s requirements for the long-term.

Elsewhere, Marcos Alonso and Emerson has remained inconsistent for the Blues despite their strong start to the campaign and Frank Lampard is open to working with Chilwell.

Chilwell’s current deal with the Foxes expires only in the summer of 2024 and the club are in a strong position to decline bids in the next few transfer windows.

Drinkwater to remain with Chelsea
Football Transfer Centre

England international Danny Drinkwater is set to stay with Chelsea beyond the summer transfer window, considering the club have not received any suitable offers.

The midfielder has made just 23 appearances since making the switch from Leicester City in 2017 and just one of those came during the previous campaign.

According to Evening Standard, Lampard had been eager to offload the midfielder on a permanent basis this summer, but there have been no concrete offers from the player’s suitors.

The Blues still have the option of loaning out the 29-year-old for the season but reports indicate that he may now remain at Stamford Bridge until January at the least.

Drinkwater has featured in the pre-season games under Lampard this term, but there are no assurances of regular gametime when the real season begins next month.

Chelsea begin their Premier League campaign with a challenging trip to Old Trafford to face Manchester United on August 11. Three days later, they have a UEFA Super Cup clash against Jurgen Klopp‘s Liverpool.

Dybala: no longer heading to England

Tottenham and Man Utd target Paulo Dybala has told Juventus that he wants to stay at the club and fight for his future. The Argentina international had been linked with a move to England this summer, having seen his first-team opportunities at the club slip away last campaign.

Spurs were reportedly in pole position to sign the player but Mauricio Pochettino will be left very disappointed with the latest news that Dybala intends to stay in Turin.

It is understood that the striker was offered as a part of a potential deal to sign Romelu Lukaku from Juventus, but that deal appears to be dead in the water. Dybala is valued at around £75 million by Juve, a transfer fee that Tottenham are ready to pay outright for the player. Yet it is understood that Dybala has no interest in a move to White Hart Lane.

Newly appointed manager Maurizio Sarri has held talks with Dybala regarding the striker’s future at the club, and has indicated that the player can fight for a spot in the first team next year.
