Maddison to pen new Foxes deal?

England attacker James Maddison is reportedly prepared to snub advances from Manchester United in order to pen a new long-term deal with Leicester City.

The 22-year-old has been one of the standout performers in the Premier League and he has already amassed six goals from 13 appearances in all competitions.

As a result, there has recently been the speculation that United could make a big-money move for Maddison in either January or at end of the campaign but it appears that the playmaker is content to stay put with the Foxes.

According to The Manchester Evening News, the former Norwich City man appears intent on prolonging his stay with the Foxes and he could reject the Red Devils to sign a new and improved deal.

United have struggled to find a suitable player, who can make the difference in the number 10 role and the likes of Jesse Lingard, Juan Mata and Andreas Pereira have remained inconsistent with their showing.

Juventus to make move for Chelsea star Kante

Kante on Juventus radar?

Juventus are expected to make a January transfer approach for Chelsea star N’Golo Kante. The French defensive midfielder has helped the Blues to Premier League title success but is reportedly keen to make a move elsewhere in pursuit of Champions League glory.

Juventus are ready to splash close to 120 million euros to sign Kante from the Stamford Bridge outfit and are confident that a deal can be reached.

The midfielder, who previously helped Leicester City to a Premier League title, has indicated previously that he is happy at the Blues, but there are continual rumours that the player will eventually depart England for a move to either Italy or Spain.

Former Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri is keen to link up with his former player at his current club Juventus and has indicated that he would spend heavily to secure a deal for the World Cup winning player.

Kante has a contract with Chelsea until 2023 and the 28-year-old had previously indicated that he would be willing to extend his stay at Stamford Bridge beyond that spell.

Jadon Sancho to reject future Manchester United move?

Sancho’s advisors have second thoughts over Man United move

The representatives of Jadon Sancho are far from convinced that Jadon Sancho can benefit from a move to Manchester United in the future.

The England international has been a revelation since his move to Borussia Dortmund from Manchester City in 2017, and he has already amassed 15 goals and 18 assists in the past 18 months.

Earlier this summer, Sancho had been the subject of concrete interest from the Red Devils but Dortmund made it clear that the teenager would not be sold at any price.

According to The Mail, there is now a strong feeling from the player’s entourage that the 19-year-old won’t benefit from a move to Old Trafford at the end of the season.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer‘s side have struggled in the Premier League during the opening seven games and they are currently placed 10th on the table with just nine points registered.

This is their worst-ever points tally in the Premier League era after seven matches and the pressure will no doubt raise on Solskjaer, should the current run of form extend.

Sule: rejected England move in favour of Bayern

Bayern Munich defender Niklas Sule has revealed that he had an option to move to England and sign for either Tottenham or Manchester United prior to moving to the Bavarian side. Sule arrived in Munich from Bundesliga rivals Hoffenheim in a 25 million euro transfer deal in 2017.

Instead, Sule opted to stay in his home country and has now gone on to represent the German full national team. Many consider Sule to be one of the best centre-backs in the world.

“It was a thought to go to the Premier League [in 2017],” the 24-year-old revealed.

“This is one of the leagues in which I really want to play. At the time, however, I saw the change to Munich as the best step. And, as you can see, I am very happy at Bayern.

“Not only because I got my way, but also because the fans and all the staff are great.”

Man Utd reportedly were very close to securing a deal to sign Sule back in 2017, with a transfer fee of 20 million euros agreed between the Old Trafford outfit and Sule’s then club Hoffenheim.

Man United considered Pickford move

Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford was reportedly a target for Manchester United during the recently-concluded summer transfer window.

United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer had to contend with the uncertainty surrounding David de Gea‘s future during the off-season and it had been predicted that he could head for an exit with his contract expiring in the summer of 2020.

However, that was certainly not the case with De Gea staying put but The Athletic claims Pickford was earmarked as a probable replacement for the Spain international.

De Gea has come under criticism from his own supporters for the average performances this year but he has nonetheless retained the trust from his teammates and the head coach.

He has just 11 months remaining on his existing deal with the club but reports indicate they are close to rewarding the shot-stopper with a new and improved contract worth £290,000-a-week.

Manchester United are currently eighth on the league table with five points on the board. They are scheduled to entertain Leicester City at Old Trafford this weekend.

Smalling to swap United for Italy permanent move

Chris Smalling wants to make a permanent move away from Manchester United at the end of the season and has indicated that a potential next destination could be AS Roma. The Serie A outfit have signed Smalling on a loan deal until next summer, with the England international defender hopeful that a contract can be agreed with the Italian club.

Smalling has been linked with a move away from Old Trafford on a permanent basis after losing his third choice centre-back place to Phil Jones. Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer prefers to play Victor Lindelof alongside Harry Maguire at the heart of the United defence, leaving Smalling on the sidelines for the near future.

The 29-year-old defender is valued by his club in the region of around 10 million euros, with several teams all chasing the player. It is understood that the favourites to secure Smalling’s signature could be Serie A rivals AC Milan at the end of the season; the club have been tracking Smalling’s transfer situation closely.

Smalling has two years remaining on his deal with Solskjaer’s side.

Coutinho turned down Spurs on deadline day

Barcelona playmaker Philippe Coutinho is understood to have rejected the option to join Tottenham Hotspur prior to the Premier League transfer deadline. The Brazil international was widely fancied to return to the English top-flight before the 5pm deadline on Thursday and he was offered to the likes of Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur.

According to AS, Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino had sought to lure Coutinho back to England and he made a personal one-on-one phone call to the 27-year-old.

However, the Brazilian decided to snub advances from his former Espanyol head coach, considering he wanted to remain loyal to Jurgen Klopp‘s side by not signing with a Premier League rival.

Coutinho has seemingly fallen down the pecking order at the Camp Nou following the big-money purchase of Antoine Griezmann from Atletico Madrid.

Still, he continues to remain optimistic about his chances of succeeding with the Blaugrana and appears set to fight for his position rather than pursuing a move to another elite European outfit.
