Dunk wanted by Chelsea

Chelsea have reportedly been told by Brighton & Hove Albion that they will need to come up with a package of around £50m in order to sign Lewis Dunk during the current transfer window.

The Blues have fared impressively throughout the current season and despite a recent struggles in the Premier League, they continued to remain in the fourth spot with a five-point advantage over Manchester United.

According to The Times, the west London giants are looking at the prospect of signing an experienced centre-back despite the fact that they have four senior options at their disposal.

Antonio Rudiger, Kurt Zouma, Fikayo Tomori and Andreas Christensen have been rotated at the heart of the defence this term but manager Frank Lampard still seems keen on another central defender, given the club have struggled to restrict the opposition from scoring on most occasions.

The same outlet states that Brighton captain Dunk has been earmarked as the prime target to fulfil their requirement but he won’t come on the cheap with the Seagulls reluctant to accept anything less than £50m for the sale of the England international.

Aston Villa and Crystal Palace have both entered the race to sign Ashley Young from Manchester United during the ongoing transfer window.

The England international has less than six months remaining on his contract with the Red Devils and he has recently made his mind up to leave the club rather than seeing out his deal.

Inter Milan have been touted as favourites to acquire his signature this month but it appears that the club have yet to find the breakthrough in terms of the transfer fee for Young.

Amidst this, The Sun claims that both Palace and former club Villa have expressed an interest in Young and they are optimistic of taking advantage of the contract situation.

Young was not included in the Red Devils’ matchday squad to face Norwich City over the weekend and reports have claimed that the versatile player may have played his final game in the club’s colours.

Ben Chilwell news

Leicester won’t sell Chilwell in January
Football Transfer Centre

Chelsea will reportedly be unable to convince Leicester City to sanction the sale of Ben Chilwell during the upcoming transfer window.

The west Londoners won their appeal against the FIFA-imposed transfer ban last month and they are now expected to spend on new signings next month.

Chilwell has been one of the players, who has been constantly linked with a move to Stamford Bridge but Football London claims that the club’s prospects of signing the left-back are ‘infinitesimal’.

The England international has contributed one goal and three assists for the Foxes this term but of late, he has struggled against the likes of Manchester City and Liverpool in back-to-back games.

His present deal with the east Midlands outfit only expires in the summer of 2024 and the Foxes are in a strong position to keep hold of his services for the January transfer window.

Chelsea are scheduled to face Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium in Sunday’s Premier League clash. The Blues go into the game with just two wins from the past seven league games.

Cole wants Chilwell at Chelsea
Football Transfer Centre

Chelsea legend Ashley Cole has recommended his former club to acquire the services of Ben Chilwell from fellow Premier League side Leicester City.

The Blues are in the mark for a new left-sided defender with the likes of Marcos Alonso and Emerson struggling for consistency while Cesar Azpilicueta has likewise been unimpressive in a makeshift role.

As a result, Chilwell has been earmarked as the prime transfer target for the January transfer window and Cole believes that the Blues should make an approach for the Foxes star in the New Year.

“I would love to see him at Chelsea,” Cole told talkSPORT. “He’s doing really, really well at Leicester. He’s enjoying the way Brendan [Rodgers] plays and his system; he’s got that licence to attack.”

Leicester boss Rodgers has recently stated that the club are unlikely to offload any of their first-team stars next month and Cole believes the Blues may struggle to find the breakthrough at the midway stage of the season.

“I think he’s quality and I’ve heard he’s a Chelsea fan, too, so I would like to see him here. Whether he would want to leave, or if Leicester would want to sell him, that’s something the clubs would have to talk about,” he added.

Chilwell has featured in 13 league games for the Foxes this term, contributing one goal and three assists. He has also been a regular with England and recently bagged three assists against Montenegro.

Jadon Sancho news

United favourites to sign Sancho

Manchester United are reportedly ahead of the likes of Chelsea and Liverpool in the race to sign Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund.

The teenager has had another top-notch season with BVB and he has already bagged 10 goals and 11 assists in all competitions for the side this term.

Chelsea and Liverpool have recently been heavily linked with the ex-Manchester City graduate but The Mirror claims the Red Devils hold the advantage in the player’s pursuit.

Sancho’s relationship with Dortmund has taken a downward turn over the past few weeks but sporting director Michael Zorc has made it clear that he won’t be sold in January.

The attacker is currently valued in excess of £100m and United may have to wait until the summer to get their hands of Sancho, who has already represented England on 11 occasions.

Sancho’s existing deal with Dortmund only expires in the summer of 2022. He is presently on a £190,000-a-week package and United will have to make him one of the Premier League’s highest earners, should they land his services.

Maddison set for Leicester City deal?

England international James Maddison will reportedly sign a new contract with the Foxes in the coming weeks, amidst interest from Premier League giants Man Utd. The Leicester City creative midfielder has been one of the top flight’s bright sparks so far this campaign, with his club now desperate to tie the player to a long-term new contract.

Since Maddison’s arrival from Norwich City, the midfielder has made his debut for England and has shone in the Premier League, helping Leicester City to the top half of the league table.

According to the Daily Mail, Man Utd manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wants to add creativity to his midfield and sees Maddison as the perfect acquisition for the January transfer window, but the price tag of £65 million could scare off the Old Trafford outfit.

It is also understood that Tottenham and Arsenal also hold a long-term interest in Maddison, while French giants Paris St Germain have deployed scouts to monitor Leicester City games in recent times.

Maddison has three years remaining on his current contract.

Ben Chilwell news

Chilwell to Chelsea in January?

Chelsea are deemed to be leading the race to sign defender Ben Chilwell from Leicester City when the transfer window reopens in the New Year.

The Blues are presently banned from signing any players until July 1 but they are hopeful of reducing the punishment by six months after their appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport.

According to The Mail, both United and Chelsea are looking into signing a new left-sided defender but the latter are leading the race to sign the England international.

Emerson and Marcos Alonso have been the preferred picks for the left-back role under Frank Lampard this term and the former has regularly got the nod for the starting XI.

Still, Lampard is understood to be eyeing a more attack-minded left-back, who can also be effective in the defence and Chilwell has been identified as the top target.

Leicester City have generally turned down the opportunity to cash in on their star players at the midway stage of the campaign and it remains to be seen whether they are tempted to sanction Chilwell’s sale, should the right offer come by.

Maddison on Real radar

Manchester United target James Maddison has reportedly emerged as a surprise transfer option for Real Madrid amid his impressive performances for Leicester City over the past 16 months.

The 22-year-old has been one of the Foxes’ most consistent performers since his move from Norwich City last year and he has already amassed 10 goals and nine assists while operating in the number 10 position.

Over the past few weeks, it has been indicated that United could be the next destination for the England Under-21 international but Marca claims that Los Blancos could come up with a bid of their own for the playmaker.

The 13-time European champions are currently going through a transitional phase and it is claimed that Maddison has been identified as a suitable target for the creative midfield role.

Maddison currently has under four years remaining on his current contract with the Foxes and the east Midlands outfit are bound to demand fees of around £80m for his future sale.

There has recently been speculation that Maddison could leave the Foxes in January but that would come as a surprise, given the club have generally declined to do business at the midway stage of a campaign.

Harry Kane news

Kane wanted by Real Madrid
Football Transfer Centre

Real Madrid are reportedly set to target the signing of Harry Kane from Tottenham Hotspur when the current campaign comes to a close.

The England international has been a huge contributor for Spurs over the years and he has bagged 168 goals from 259 appearances including four from the opening six games this term.

Still, Kane has not won a single trophy for his efforts with the north London club and Rio Ferdinand recently suggested that the centre-forward should leave Spurs to win silverware.

According to AS, Los Blancos president Florentino Perez is determined to pursue the services of Kane and a formal approach could be made during the 2020 summer transfer window.

Spurs are currently in a strong position to keep hold of Kane, who has more than four years left on his contract, but Los Blancos appear prepared to spend most of next summer’s budget to lure the striker to the Bernabeu.

Luka Jovic was recruited by Zinedine Zidane‘s side during the summer to provide competition to Karim Benzema upfront but the Serbian has drawn blank during his first five games for the club.
