Rashford out for a few months with double stress fracture

Manchester United are set to be without Marcus Rashford for around three months after the forward picked up a double stress fracture during the FA Cup third round replay against Wolverhampton Wanderers.

United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer confirmed earlier in the week that Rashford was struggling with a back problem but he still brought on the marksman for the second half against Wolves in midweek.

That came at a cost as he was substituted within 17 minutes of his appearance and The Times has now revealed that the Red Devils graduate could be out of action between two to three months.

United have been reliant on Rashford to make the difference upfront in recent months and the England international has amassed 19 in all competitions for the Red Devils this season.

His absence may tempt the club to make a new signing in the transfer window but so far, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has given no indication that could be the case before next week’s deadline.

No Rashford for Liverpool clash

Manchester United are set to be without Marcus Rashford for the upcoming Premier League clash against Liverpool at Anfield.

The England international sustained a knock to his knee and back in the midweek Cup clash against Wolves and he has not been able to recover from the setback for the Reds game.

According to ESPN, the United graduate won’t be involved against the Premier League leaders tonight due to the concern and as a result, he has been left out of the travelling squad.

In the absence of Rashford, United are likely to field Daniel James on the left side of the attack but it remains to be seen whether the Welshman can step up with his performances after struggling for form in recent weeks.

Rashford’s tally of 19 goals sees him as the top-scorer for the Red Devils this season and they will certainly miss his services, given he has been involved in three of United’s previous four goals scored against the Reds.

Aston Villa and Crystal Palace have both entered the race to sign Ashley Young from Manchester United during the ongoing transfer window.

The England international has less than six months remaining on his contract with the Red Devils and he has recently made his mind up to leave the club rather than seeing out his deal.

Inter Milan have been touted as favourites to acquire his signature this month but it appears that the club have yet to find the breakthrough in terms of the transfer fee for Young.

Amidst this, The Sun claims that both Palace and former club Villa have expressed an interest in Young and they are optimistic of taking advantage of the contract situation.

Young was not included in the Red Devils’ matchday squad to face Norwich City over the weekend and reports have claimed that the versatile player may have played his final game in the club’s colours.

Young off to Inter?

Manchester United star Ashley Young has reportedly agreed personal terms over a two-year contract with Inter Milan ahead of his proposed move to the club this month.

The England international was completely excluded from the matchday squad to face Norwich City on Saturday and this has given a clear indication that he is on the cusp of an exit.

According to Sky Italy, the former Watford graduate has already reached an agreement over the personal terms and it remains to be seen whether the Nerazzurri are able to agree on a fee with United.

Otherwise, the San Siro outfit could be prepared to negotiate a pre-contract with the versatile ace such that they can sign him on a free transfer when his United deal expires in six months’ time.

Young has made just 11 appearances this term and he has struggled to command a regular role in the full-back positions unlike the past few campaigns with the Mancunian giants.

Young set for January United exit?

Manchester United are reportedly willing to sanction the sale of Ashley Young when the transfer window reopens at the turn of the year.

The England international has been an important figure for the Red Devils over the past eight years but his future remains uncertain with his contract expiring next summer.

A recent report indicated that Young is aware that he won’t be handed with a new deal beyond the season and The Mail reports that the veteran could be permitted to find a new club in January itself.

United have relied on Aaron Wan-Bissaka as the regular right-back choice this term but Young has still made 16 appearances while acting as the back-up as well as starting on the left side of the backline.

With the injury comebacks of Diogo Dalot and Luke Shaw, Young’s gametime could be reduced during the backend of the season and it appears that the club are willing to let him go as early as the winter transfer window.

United favourites to sign Sancho

Manchester United are reportedly ahead of the likes of Chelsea and Liverpool in the race to sign Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund.

The teenager has had another top-notch season with BVB and he has already bagged 10 goals and 11 assists in all competitions for the side this term.

Chelsea and Liverpool have recently been heavily linked with the ex-Manchester City graduate but The Mirror claims the Red Devils hold the advantage in the player’s pursuit.

Sancho’s relationship with Dortmund has taken a downward turn over the past few weeks but sporting director Michael Zorc has made it clear that he won’t be sold in January.

The attacker is currently valued in excess of £100m and United may have to wait until the summer to get their hands of Sancho, who has already represented England on 11 occasions.

Sancho’s existing deal with Dortmund only expires in the summer of 2022. He is presently on a £190,000-a-week package and United will have to make him one of the Premier League’s highest earners, should they land his services.

Sancho wants La Liga switch?

Manchester United have reportedly receive a blow in signing Jadon Sancho, who is said to fancy a move to either Barcelona or Real Madrid next summer.

Sancho was one of the Red Devils’ prime targets before the current season but they could not convince Dortmund to sanction his sale, considering the German club had already lost the services of Christian Pulisic.

According to The Times, Sancho is likely to consider a bigger challenge at the end of the current campaign but it appears that United are no longer his preferred destination.

Instead, he is understood to favour a move to one of Barcelona or Real Madrid with the Spanish heavyweights currently said to be monitoring his performances at Dortmund.

The England international has recently been reported to be unhappy at the Bundesliga outfit with manager Lucien Favre punishing him for disciplinary concerns.

The teenager was left out of the starting lineup to face Barcelona in the Champions League last night with Favre citing that he was not completely focused.
