Manchester United are slumping lately as they are in the 10th position in the PL standings. The Red Devils have picked up just 13 points from 11 matches, with only one win in their last 5 games.

Manchester United were handed a 1-0 loss by Bournemouth last weekend and due to this result, the position of head coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer remains doubtful.

Former Juventus and AC Milan coach Massimiliano Allegri has been rumored to replace Solskjaer if United fail to improve their performance. However, Bayern Munich are also interested to bring in Allegri after sacking Niko Kovac following a 5-1 loss against Frankfurt last weekend.

Former England manager Fabio Capello thinks Massimiliano Allegri should choose Manchester United instead of Bayern Munich. “England’s exciting, there’s the possibility of working well and the Premier League is a championship that enriches you. If I was Allegri, I’d go to Manchester.” Capello said.

Capello, who has also served as AC Milan and Juventus coach in the past, added that Allegri would fit in ideally with the young and talented United squad.

Smalling set for permanent Roma deal?

Serie A giants AS Roma are reportedly confident of signing Chris Smalling on a permanent basis from Manchester United when the season comes to a close.

The England international joined the Giallorossi on a season-long loan from the Red Devils over the summer but they were not able to agree on the option to buy.

Earlier this week, it had been indicated that the Red Devils may consider keeping the services of Smalling next season with manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer impressed with the centre-back’s performances in Rome.

However, according to Sky Italia, that does not seem the case and the Italian are growingly optimistic of committing the central defender to a long-term contract with the club.

Smalling, who made 34 appearances for the Red Devils last season, is currently said to be valued at around £12.9m and that remains within the range of the Giallorossi next summer.

Roma recently registered a second successive league victory and that has propelled them into the top four. Next up, they have a tricky challenge with Napoli, who are one point behind them, making the trip to Stadio Olimpico.

Dean Ashton says Declan Rice is not ready for Man Utd

Rice has been linked with Man Utd recently

Former West Ham United striker Dean Ashton advises Declan Rice not to join Manchester United. According to him, the young midfielder must at least wait for one or two seasons.

Recently, the young Englishman has been linked with Manchester United. In fact, a number of sources have reported the Red Devils are ready to spend 100 million pounds to sign Rice.

Ashton says that it is not the time for Rice to move to a bigger club. The former England national team player who retired early thinks that West Ham is the right club for the development of Rice’s career.

“I feel as if he’s still got improvements to make and there is no better place to learn and do that than West Ham.” Ashton said.

Pundits believe Declan Rice is to replace Michael Carrick at Manchester United. Both players share similarities in their styles of play. It is also worth mentioning that Rice and Carrick had both graduated from the West Ham academy.

Greenwood: pens new United deal

Up and coming teenager Mason Greenwood has signed a new contract with Manchester United, signalling the club’s intent to make the England youth international an important member of the first team in the near future. Greenwood has put pen to paper on a contract with United until 2023.

Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has yet to expose Greenwood to too much playing time, but will be delighted to have brought through the player as a bit-part performer so far this season.

“Mason has progressed through our outstanding academy and we are delighted with the progress he has made,” Solskjaer said.

“At such a young age, he already has great pace and intelligence and he is such a natural finisher. Since he came into the first team, he has really impressed everyone with his drive and attitude, he has all the attributes to become a top player.”

“Having grown up as a Manchester United fan, playing for the first team is a real dream come true,” Greenwood said of his new deal.

“I know that, when I play for this club, I represent the whole academy and I want to repay the faith that my coaches have shown in me with my performances on the pitch. I am learning all the time from the manager and his coaching staff and I know that this is the perfect club to help me reach my potential.”

Declan Rice still happy at Hammers despite United interest

Manchester United midfielder Declan Rice has been informed that West Ham plan to keep the player for the long-term as the Hammers slapped a £100 million pricetag on the England international. United are seeking a midfield acquisition in the January transfer window and have turned their attentions to the signing of Rice from the Irons.

According to the Daily Mirror, United are to launch a January transfer move for Rice, with manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer believed to be a huge fan of the midfielder.

With uncertainty over the long term future of French international Paul Pogba, United are seeking midfield reinforcements and believe Rice could be the best available target come 2020.

Rice is understood to be happy at his current club, but has hinted in the past that he would move to a new club if the right offer came in. Chelsea and Arsenal are also known admirers of Rice as both clubs seek to sign one of England and Europe’s best young midfielders. Rice has four years remaining on his contract with Manuel Pellegrini‘s side.
